Certification exams may be hosted online or at approved testing locations.

Training Structure

How long is the training?
The core HVAC readiness training is designed to be completed in approximately four weeks, depending on pacing. The program is self-paced, allowing students to move faster or slower as needed.

Is the training online or in person?
The core training is 100% online and includes:

An optional in-person field study is available after completion.

Field Study Option

What is the field study?
The field study is an optional, short-term work experience designed to expose trainees to real HVAC job environments under controlled conditions.

Is the field study required?
No. The field study is optional and intended for students who want real-world exposure before applying for HVAC positions.

How many hours is the field study?
The field study consists of 36 hours of on-site experience.
​
Is the field study paid?
Yes. Trainees are paid at their state’s minimum wage rate.
​
Why do trainees pay a deposit for the field study?
The deposit is used to fund the trainee’s wages and ensure insurance coverage during the field study period. This structure allows participation without placing financial or liability burden on contractors.

Is this considered unpaid labor?
No. Trainees are compensated for all field study hours worked. The deposit is a funding mechanism, not unpaid labor.

The Spark Life HVAC Readiness Program is $895, positioned as an investment in job readiness, certifications, and confidence.

Is financial assistance available?
At this time, Spark Life Institute does not offer direct financial aid. Some participants may qualify for workforce or third-party funding depending on location.
